William Morris, Art Nouveau

I chose William Morris because I thought his use of texture in his patterns is unique and simplistic but has elegant results. I also found it interesting he used tapestries and tiles and embraced the idea of decoration in his works. I found it interesting that he made "decorum" like art pieces because when I looked into him, he hated factories and mass produced works, so I feel he is trying to show the world through his work that factories can't mass produce artworks and beautiful, original pieces. He was interested in making artwork out of everyday things, like I stated earlier, tiles, fabrics, and decorum. I also appreciate his frequent use of nature in his artwork.
