Artist Ai Weiwei lying face down in Lesvos in the Aegean sea as a tribute to 3-year-old Aylan Kurdi in a bid to highlight the plight of Syrian refugees.
I chose this photograph because of it's sentimental value. Ai brought attention to the fact that a 3 year old Syrian refugee body have found its way on the coast of the Aegean Sea. This is not only a social commentary but also has great political value in the U.S currently. He simply put himself in the place of another person. This created a wave a publicity to bring awareness to the fact that this could be us/you/me. Likewise in America there is a current struggle with immigration and people fleeing their country to come to america who is returning "illegal Immigrants" at the moment.
