Zao Wou-Ki
Zao Wou-Ki was a French-Chinese artist who created non-representational paintings blending the Eastern and Western modes of art. This piece, L'Etang, The Pond, was made in 1972. I liked this piece because of the colors, and that it has a whimsical vibe to it. I am assuming that because the title has "The Pond" in it, this is an interpretation of one. I think that this is cool because it looks like a loose version of a pond if you were looking down on it. To me, it kind of looked like the entrance to an area that would have a pond. Either way, I think it is a really pretty piece.
