Yinka Shonibare
I personally like this work of Yinka Shonibare because to me it seems like there is almost organized chaos. There is so many bright and vibrant colors in so many different patterns on all different size books yet they are all nicely organized on the shelves. Every shelf is perfectly filled, there is no excess space, so every book stands up straight and it looks clean cut. On the other hand, all the bright colors bring about some confusion and intricate detail to the organized shelves. I also love the meaning behind this work. It is a visual depiction of all the different cultural contributions immigrants have given over the years. Each of these books are penned by artists from all around the world to depict his idea of "otherness".
