I chose this piece to represent "Art Nouveau" because of Klimt's unique but trademark style. Essentially flattening the forms and embossing with gold leaf helps more of the color involved pop out. Taking the depth away that would normally be present if someone where to paint/draw two people embraci with a sheet wrapped around them leaves this painting with the effect the man's head is floating and the woman is just gently resting against what appears to be a wall- even though her hands are still running through the blanket.
