Jena-Michel Basquiat

I think that at first glance Jean-Michel Basquiat;s work seems careless and thoughtless. The childish tendencies of his drawings and paintings seem like something of a mistake or mess. However, his paintings and drawings have such a consistent and unique style that, especially when paired with his graffiti tactics, make for an interesting movement. His lack of structure carried out into his personal life and I feel that makes his art genuine. He was a mess with a lot of deep meaning and intricate details and so was his art.
