Jean-Michel Basquiat had a passion for art and drawing from a very young age. Through out the years, Basquiat’s art was influenced by African, Aztec, Greek, Roman, Puerto Rican, and Haitian, Black and Hispanic cultures. In many of his works one can see a crown which was Basquiat’s signature motif. I chose this piece because of all of the colors and the uniquely drawn person and fish. Many of his pieces are of similar style, thick lines and they have a slight hypnotic effect.
